Wring-Man is used to separate mixtures of liquid and solids in many industries with a broad spectrum of applications. The purpose can be to upgrade liquids or upgrade solids:
1. Liquid Upgrade – To remove solids from the sludge thereby enabling permitted sewer disposal or recovery of water to be re-used or sold downstream.
2. Solids Upgrade – To remove liquids from the sludge enabling the solids to be recovered or permitted for disposal at landfill. The reduced liquid content of the solids (filter cake) reduces the weight of the filter cake thereby lowering transport costs and disposal fees. It also permits disposal of the filter cake at landfill sites given its low moisture content. Landfill regulations in South Africa and internationally have strict regulations that prohibit high levels of liquid being disposed off to landfill.
